Chanida Areewatanasombat is an illustrator and artist from Bangkok, Thailand. With a deep passion for storytelling through art, Nida has been creating since childhood, constantly exploring different mediums and techniques to express emotions and experiences. Her journey as an illustrator officially began in 2011 during their second year of a Bachelor’s degree. Seeking to expand their artistic knowledge and refine her visual language, she pursued a Master’s degree in Illustration Design at Kingston University London from 2016 to 2017. This experience further shaped their approach to art, encouraging them to push creative boundaries and explore new ways of visual storytelling.

 

Her artistic journey began with a love for drawing, which later evolved into a pursuit of illustration during her university years. Over time, her work has expanded beyond traditional illustration, delving into fine art and mixed media to capture the complexity of human emotions and personal experiences.

She works across various mediums, from gouache and oil pastels to collage and digital formats, allowing each piece to take on a unique form that best represents its theme. She is passionate about exploring new materials, ensuring that each project aligns with its context, which often results in diverse artistic styles. Her work frequently explores themes of mental health, emotional landscapes, and the relationship between personal memories and external influences.
